Last month, after I sent out the meeting reminder, I got an e-mail from a guy who has never been to one of the meditation times, but is on the mailing list.
He said in part, “I just wanted to let you know that I will probably never be able to make a sit downtown because of family and work obligations. But I’m glad to get the monthly update because I like knowing that other men are regularly meditating. That encourages me.”
I really appreciated his note. For those of us that can regularly meet on the first Monday of the month, it is a great opportunity to connect with other men who are meditating and to have time to share. But for a lot of you that’s not an option. So perhaps tonight at the same time or some other time today take your own time to meditate for 5-10 minutes and remember that here in DC, across the country and around the world, other men are also pausing for a few minutes in their hectic schedules to mediate. Hopefully that also provides you with some encouragement to know that "other men are meditating."
So join us tonight, March 2nd @ 7:30-9:00pm for our monthly men's meditation gathering in meeting room #2 (upstairs) at Shaw Library. All levels of practitioners are welcome.
For upcoming news, I will be teaching at the Capitol Hill Sanga at St. Mark’s next Monday, March 9th at 7:30pm. This is open to all so a good opportunity to invite female friends, partners, spouses, etc. For more information see, http://stmarksmeditation.org/
